Lucky Bat Cup

The Bowl Maker's favorite personal connection to bats is sitting on a dock along the edge of a small Adirondack lake at dusk and out the corner of their eyes, slightly catching the first silent swooping of the bats as they emerge for a summer feast. Their favorite writing that includes bats is by Jarod K Anderson “Bats can hear shapes, plants can eat light, bees can dance maps”.

We raise our cups to these little dusky wonders as they are the only mammal who figured out over the eons to truly be able to fly on their own. We raise our cups to all of you who have figured out how to fly metaphorically.
